Singer, songwriter and all round lovely chap Josh Ritter is writing a great little blog entitled ‘Making a Life in Music’. It’s a lessons learned in the music business affair. Well worth an investimigation, even if you are not a Ritter fan [IF NOT WHY NOT!?] Brian Stowell is currently on tour with Josh & the Royal City Band photographing his ass off and tumblring right here.

Josh Ritter - Rumours, at the Café de la Danse in Paris on Sept. 10, 2010.
I finally got to see Josh Ritter & the Royal City Band (with his lovely lady wife Dawn in support) on Thursday evening. It was fantastic, he was so giddy!! The band sounded brilliant. At one point there was wolf howling and a Talking Heads cover, and right at the end the whole band performed a mid song freeze frame (immediate brownie points). In spite of the huge crowd it felt very intimate. The rest of their 2010 tour dates are in the US and Canada. If you get the opportunity GO GO GO.

Down with the deep blue jail around her
Running her hands through the ribs of the dark
