A year ago today, I watched this documentary and it was one of the more pivotal things I’ve ever seen. I’ve come to learn and appreciate the Walt Disney company a little bit more because of this film. No, I’m not proud of all of it, but the incredible animators, writers, composers, and songwriters of this company were introduced to me through this film. I credit it for a lot of things. Because of Waking Sleeping Beauty, today marks my one year anniversary of falling in love with Howard Ashman; of poking fun at Jeffrey Katzenberg; of being an animation enthusiast. If it wasn’t for this film, I never would have been interested in seeing Tangled, the film that made me consider even working for this company.
~yay Waking Sleeping Beauty~

Drop everything and watch this. It’s so stunning and beautiful, and the ending just leaves a lump in your throat. Enchanting work from animators and recent graduates of EMCA’s animation program: Vic Chhun, Leyla Kaddoura, and Nicolas Ughen.

Timber Timbre: “Do I Have Power” Video
Just in time for Halloween, Timber Timbre’s thirdvideo for their Creep On Creepin’ On LP arrives in the form of “Do I Have Power,” an animated, monochromatic trip through some Sleepy Hollow-meets-What Dreams May Come scenery, where a kid in a skeleton costume winds up shuffling off his mortal coil during Colin Stetson’s cacophonous sax solo. Check out the clip, directed by Carlos De Carvalho, above.
Well, this is fantastic.
